The extraordinary performer and Earth Wind & Fire musician, Verdine White remarried his wife of 31 years (at the time) in front of 70 guests at Mr. Chows restaurant in Beverly Hills on New Years Eve. Friends, family and of course, Earth Wind and Fire, were all there to celebrate the couples happy union. Verdine’s lovely wife, Mashelle White, was kind enough to sit down with Yourfoodguide.net and share all the juicy details of the fabulous wedding!
Why they chose Mr. Chows as their wedding venue
“Our first date in the late 70s was at Mr Chows in Beverly Hills and we have been going there ever since! The food is always consistent and they have locations in London, Miami, Japan and New York…..Also Malibu, CA.”
“We had a sit down dinner with a total of 70 people in attendance, the theme was “I Do Take Take 2” The invite was like a red carpet Hollywood premier…on location at Mr. Chow, for wardrobe we requested that everyone wear white and the “call time” was 7:30!”
The Wedding Reception Cuisine
“We chose appetizers to be shared; Squab & Lettuce, Glazed Prawns, Gambei & Walnuts, Shrimp Toast, Mr Chows Noodles & Saute Chicken on Skewers. For dinner, we chose Ginger Sea Bass, Chicken Joanna, Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce & Filet Mignon. Sides were Shrimp Fried Rice with Edemame, Mixed Vegetables & Asparagus in Garlic Sauce.”
The Wedding Cake
“We had Cake and Art of West Hollywood make a 3 Tier Master Piece White Cake Strawberries & Cream…..and we had Chocolate Candy Bars for our guests.”
It’s clear the guests at this exclusive wedding ate VERY well! Wishing Shelly and Verdine many more years of love, happiness and eating world famous food!
