If you’re trying to avoid spending money on take out, this homemade Beef and Broccoli bowl is a great alternative. We served the dish in our favorite heart shaped bowl to add a little flare to our dinner presentation. Scroll down for the recipe and have a great weekend!
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
flank steak, trimmed of fat and sliced very thin
2 tablespoons of olive oil
salt as needed (use sparingly)
rice, for serving
In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce and garlic.
Heat the oil in a heavy skillet or wok over high heat.
Add meat in a single layer to skillet, but do not stir for a good minute. (You want the meat to get as brown as possible in as short amount a time as possible.) Turn the meat to the other side and cook for another 30 seconds.
Pour the soy sauce and garlic over the meat, add the broccoli and stir for a minute. Cover and simmer until broccoli is done. Season with salt if needed, serve on top of rice.
Green sauce is a cilantro, avocado lemon mixture my friend Keona Morrison made (her sauce game is impeccable). The broccoli was delicious but the beef was a bit dry. So we went ahead and gave this recipe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Enjoy!
