I recently sat down with a good friend and newlywed, Keona Morrison, to get the juicy details about her beautiful wedding this past June. She and her husband hosted 100 guests at a beautiful wedding venue in Azusa, CA. The sit down dinner offered a traditional Italian culinary experience for guests, and it was simply unforgettable!
The Wedding Reception Venue
“It’s called The Historic Lindley-Scott House. I found out about it from a family friend who married there earlier in the year. It was attractive because I was looking for a place with nice scenery for my pictures. It’s hard to find that in the city so this place was perfect with its private enclosed southern style property, surrounded by large trees and gardens blocking out the city outside the gates.”
Choosing the Entree
“I was only given one entree choice so I went with chicken parmesan because it is a popular dish that almost anyone can make. Although I’m sure people have different ways of preparing it, it’s very easy and almost always yields a tasty dish. I figured the majority of my guests could eat it.”
“The results more than satisfied my expectations. I hadn’t eaten the whole day during preparations for my 5pm nuptials so by the time my plate was in front of me I had built quite the appetite. The chicken was seasoned very well, flaky on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside. The potatoes were the right combination of oil, salt and pepper, roasted to perfection. The texture of the asparagus were soft but slightly crunchy, NOT mushy. Which I loved and wished for more on my plate. My guests were even thoroughly pleased. I’ve heard from numerous guests that the food was delicious.”
When asked if she would recommend chicken parmesan to couples planning weddings Keona replied, “YES. I would definitely recommend chicken parmesan as wedding cuisine. It was a hit, I heard no complaints. It’s a common light meal that I felt I couldn’t go wrong with.” Thanks for the culinary advice Keona!
